Concentrations
The School of Public Administration’s MPA degree consists of 42 graduate credit hours and offers three concentrations (effective Fall 2023). To earn the MPA degree with a concentration, graduate students must successfully complete the core curriculum, the practicum, specified electives, and the capstone / professional paper / thesis plan. Healthcare Management Concentration
The Healthcare Management concentration prepares students with the competencies and technical skills needed to address the challenges found in and surrounding healthcare organizations.
Students must complete 3 courses (9 credit hours) of the following to satisfy the healthcare management concentration:

PADM 562 Health Governance in the Global Perspective
PADM 563 Healthcare Finance
PADM 566 Health Economics
PADM 567 Health Care Ethics
PADM 600 Introduction to Healthcare Administration
PADM 610 Cultural Competence and Healthcare Administration
PADM 611 Healthcare Information Technology
PADM 612 Healthcare Payment Systems
PADM 640 Hospital and Clinic Administration

Policy Analysis Concentration
The Policy Analysis concentration prepares students with a firm understanding of policy along with the technical and analytical foundations to create effective, data-driven policy solutions.
Students must complete 3 courses (9 credit hours) of the following to satisfy the policy analysis concentration:
PUBP 501 Policy Seminar (1-3 cr hrs)
PUBP 502 Policy and Evaluation Lab
POLS 570 Pro-Seminar in Public Policy
GEOG 581L Introduction to GIS for Graduate Students
PADM 577 Practice of Policy Development
NATV 560 Research Method and Practice in Indigenous Scholarship

Public Management Concentration
